About
Suzanne Gauthier is an artist with a focus on contemporary drawing and painting, based in Toronto, Canada. Her work is primarily representational, depicting objects and people in drawing and paint media.
Raised in a family of artists, drawing was a regular activity growing up. After studying at Sheridan College and the Ontario College of Art and Design, Suzanne worked as a book designer and illustrator. Illustrations based on stories were commissioned and published by Nelson Publishing, McClelland & Stewart Limited, Imperial Oil Review and others. After leaving the illustration profession to focus on a different career, Suzanne’s art became more personal in nature, focusing on observing and portraying objects and people in her life.
Recently, Suzanne has been developing new work which indirectly examines relationships through still life drawings and reinterpreted family photos, and exhibiting her work locally.
